The night before Jeana’s triathlon was rainy and stormy. She dropped off her bike that day and kept her fingers crossed that the weather would be clear the next day for the race. The organizers told the racers that they would know by 5:30am on race day if the swim portion would be canceled due to high bacteria counts in the water. Of all the parts to be canceled, Jeana was most discouraged by the swim being canceled because she had worked so hard on the swimming.
On the morning of the race, the weather was not much different. The swim portion was canceled, and the organizers said that the start time of the other portions would be delayed. Not long after the first announcement, the entire race was canceled. Jeana, of course, was not happy. Even though she didn’t do the race, she acted tired that day, as if she had completed each event!
Jeana and her team – er friends, returned later in the day to pick up their bikes. Jeana is in the red jacket.
