Jeana’s friend, Missy, called Jeana and told her that she was a finalist for a contest for a radio station here in Austin. The contest provided the finalist a get-away with a friend for a girls weekend. Missy wanted Jeana to go with her for the weekend of extreme sport training. Here are some pictures from their weekend.
Getting signed in and ready for wake boarding.
Jeana had perma-grin out on the water because she was having such a good time. The biggest challenge for her was getting back into the wake.
Uh, Jeana, where did you go!
I was most proud of Jeana for trying motor cross. I didn’t think she would ever ride a motor bike, but the pictures tell all. She was even shown the ropes by Hans, who was competing for a national championship in motor cross. Jeana is the rider in red, and in the picture below is receiving a lesson in using the brakes from Buffy, Hans’ wife.
Jeana receiving riding lessons from Hans, the pro. Jeana is #81 in red.
Doesn’t Jeana look so cool? She said wearing all the protective gear was really hot. It was a great day for wake boarding, but I don’t know if the same could be said for motor cross because of the hot clothing they had to wear.

The girls weekend was at the Texas Ski Ranch, which is right off I-35 near New Braunfels (between Austin and San Antonio). I notice the big lake and the ski jumps out in the water all the time when we’re driving back from San Antonio. They also have rock climbing there, so maybe we’ll stop there in the future!
