Mt. Bonnell on My Birthday

After work on my birthday, we drove up to the Mount Bonnell “trailhead”. It’s not really a trail, but a set of stairs leading up to Austin’s highest point (at an unbelievable 785 feet). The view at the top of Mount Bonnell is nothing like the view from the top of the Grand Teton (13,770 feet), but the view does include a nice panorama of the city.

Audrey’s shirt and pants were from Aunt Michelle. The pants were especially cute, but due to the heat, Audrey preferred them to be rolled up like shorts.

It is so fun to see how much these two sisters love each other. I don’t have any younger siblings so it is fun for me to watch how Audrey is such a good big sister.

The water in the picture below is called Lake Austin. If you look closely you can see the docks on the shore of most properties along the waterfront.

This pose was, shall I say, natural – meaning that neither Jeana nor I asked Audrey to pose.

We didn’t take a picture of us sitting by the Mount Bonnell sign because it was defaced with graffiti. When Jodi and Stephen came last October, they got a great picture of everyone (except me because I was at work).

Audrey needed help from Ocean on her birthday blowing out the candles. By the time my birthday came, she knew what she was doing so she helped me. Jeana made a carrot cake for me, which is my favorite cake.
