Today Audrey read two 60+ page books to me. “I do not like green eggs and ham,” which she really enjoyed and “Hop on Pop.” Gina told me about a book she does with her kids called, “Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons,” and as you can see we are believers. It is so awesome what Audrey can do now. After she finished the two big books, she went off by herself and read 3 more books. We are getting some good use out of our library cards now. The day after Audrey finished her 100th lesson, we went to Build A Bear for a reward and Audrey made a kitty named Sweetie Pie. Audrey lined up all her books from the library today and so we took some pictures with her and Sweetie Pie.

Way to go Audrey…we started that same book with Lily, but unfortunately didn’t hear about it until it was almost time for kindergarten. Can’t wait to try it with Olivia now in a year or so. Love Audrey’s new hair cut! Keep up the good work.
Come and read Grace a story! She has the same kitty, she named hers kitty pie!
HELLO HELLO!!! I was thinking about you guys the other day and thought I’d take a gander and just typing your names into google…and low and behold, I found you! You guys have such a darling family! I can’t believe it’s been ten years! (since high school). It looks like life is treating you well. (good job, healthy kids, great marriage). I’m so happy for you! I’ve been married for three years now and we live in Park City. I met my husband when I moved to L.A. after BYU to teach at a performing arts academy. Now I teach voice and theatre and perform here in Park City for the Egyptian Theatre Company. blah, blah (you can read more about my life on our blog). Our daughter Lucy (18 mo.) is the joy of our lives. I would love to be in touch again!
At what age do you start this? I’m thinking that it would be great if Abby could read by herself. Then I could get some stuff done around the house…

We started it a couple of months after she turned 4. It took us about 4 1/2 months to get through all 100 lessons though. And that was doing it every weekday and some Saturdays. Let me warn you though, it won’t give you more time to get things done in the day. It’s supposed to take 20 minutes a day, but sometimes it took an hour and it required a lot of patience and a lot of incentives. But it’s totally worth it now!
Way to go Audrey! Isn’t it exciting to be able to read? I am very pleased with what you can do. I sure like “Sweetie Pie, too. I’ll have to see her in April when we come to see you>
