First Trip to SeaWorld

My sister, Michelle, and her youngest son, Jake, visited us for a few days over the holiday break. Jeana and I have wanted to go to SeaWorld in San Antonio for a while now, so we decided to go when Michelle and Jake were here. Jake was very excited to go.

Given that it was December 31st, and the weather had not been too warm, I figured a light sweater would be appropriate for the trip. That day turned out to be really warm and I was regretting my choice of a sweater.

There are a number of cool things at SeaWorld. We saw (and almost touched) dolphins, horses (uh, why are they at SeaWorld), sharks, fish, sea lions, and of course, Shamu (killer whale). There were actually many Shamus.

Here are some photos and videos of our first SeaWorld experience.

  1. Love the photo of Jeana and Kate! Although if you look closely, it looks like someone’s trying to pickpocket from Jeana’s backpack.

  2. Kate does “not” look happy being wet!

We haven’t seen Shamu (in San Diego) since Dallen was a baby. We really need to take our kids. They would love it.

  3. That sounds like so fun. And I am soooo sad that you were too hot in your sweater:)

  4. Fun stuff! You must have been sitting pretty close…in San Diego the bleachers were labeled if you wanted to get soaked. We were party poopers and avoided those seats.

  5. You got soaked! I love it.

  6. Yeah. The bleachers were not clearly labeled, so we just thought we were lucky that no one else took the closest seats. One person asked us if we were sure we wanted to get wet,and we said yes, but we had not idea how wet we would get.

  7. Horses? It’s Sea World…Texas style!

  8. So… if I hadn’t just seen you a couple hours ago, I would think you guys fell off the face of the earth. More blogging, please!

  9. Suzanne, you’re right. We have been very delinquent in our blogging practices lately. We’ll get back on it.

  10. Um, did you have to put the video of the old lady slack lining. I’m a little embarrassed for her.
