Yesterday Audrey and Kate were out jumping on the trampoline while I was making dinner. Every few minutes I would hear them say, “I have to go check my e-mail.” Then they’d jump off the tramp, run over to an outlet on the house, flip up the gray cover and pretend they got mail out of it. They kept doing this over and over again. When I went out to try to sneak some pictures of them, I discovered they weren’t saying “e-mail;” they were saying “female.” Scott and I got a kick out of it and later explained the difference between e-mail and female to them.

Too funny. Reminds me of this past Sunday when Lily was writing the words to “I am a Child of God.” She asked me how to spell “nearthly”. I explained it was actually the word “earthly” she was looking for – I even had to point it out to her in the hymn book. She got her stubborn face in place and said, “Whoever wrote that book is wrong!” Whatever Lily! BTW – Congratulations to you on your exciting news! Keep us posted.
Too cute! My kids got a laugh from that. We are all jealous of the photos – jumping on the trampoline in February with a skirt and t-shirt on! We are having some serious Spring Fever…enjoy it for us!
Audrey has a stubborn face of her own and quite often tells me that she’s right when I try to correct her on some words. She’s a Jekyll and Hyde. One minute she’s stubborn and the next minute she’s telling me I’m the smartest dad in the world.
What a great story!
That is so cute! The things that kids come up with sometimes!
That is funny! It’s fun to read things that I wrote down when my kids are the age of your girls. After ten or so years, it’s even funnier because you forget that they say and do such funny things around these ages.
BTW…what exciting news?
Jeana, I love this story! How very cute…you have to wonder about kids perspective sometimes. Hope all is treating you well in Austin!
