A new Einstein Bros. Bagels opened next to the gym that I teach at a few months ago. Ever since it opened up, Audrey has asked if we could go there. My usual responses are, “Maybe we can on another day” or “We just don’t have time today.” Finally, a couple of Wednesdays ago after my class, I walked out and saw a sales guy eating an Einstein’s bagel and I just had to have one. So, I picked the girls up from the kid’s club and asked them if they wanted to go get bagels. You would have thought I had just asked them if they wanted to go to Disney Land with how excited they were. So, we went and got cinnamon and sugar bagels with honey almond shmear on top. Kate kept exclaiming, “Mmmm… Bear Yummy!” I personally believe she’s saying, “Mmmm… Very Yummy!” However, Audrey is convinced she is saying, “Baa Yummy!” which makes no sense, but we’ve just agreeed to have our own opinions on that matter. It was so nice to just sit there and relax and not think about all the millions of places I should be or the millions of things I should be doing. It honestly was so relaxing………. well, at least for the first 40 minutes. Then, I started to get ancy. So, I would sneak bites of their bagels while they weren’t looking; not because I was hungry; just so I could get us out of there sometime before Kate’s nap. I have pictures on my cell phone, but have no idea how to get them off. So, once I get Scott to get them off for me, I’ll add them here.

Mmmm…. that sounds sooo good. I wish we had one close by us. I love their sandwiches. It’s always fun to get out of the house with the kids. Who cares if you get all of the other things done. However, nap time is number one priority.
Cute story … you’ve gotta love those kind of days. I love that they are happy with the simple things – Disneyland vs. Einstein Bagels. Too bad we loose that excitement the older we get.
Take advantage of just relaxing…wait until your children are all older and you’re driving them everywhere, and helping at school, and going to meetings, and…well, you get my point. I really miss those days when the three amigos were all young. Such a simple life.
What a great mom you are! I need to do more spur of the moment stuff like that. You’re so kind and patient. I love you!
