Remembering Grandpa Gussy
July 1st, 2008 by Scott
My Grandpa, Franklin Reed Baldwin, passed away four years ago today. In my family, he earned the nickname Grandpa Gussy because he called many of us Gussy when we were younger. I thought I’d post some movies about my Grandpa. He was an amazing example in his lifetime, as is my Grandma.
Thanks for creating a family so centered on the Gospel Grandpa that the generations now living are blessed beyond you could probably imagine.

What a fun treat! I am sitting here with a little grin on my face…thanks for the reminder of what a cool heritage we have! I loved that man…

Thank you, Scott, for remembering. But mostly thanks for carrying on the legacy that he left. I know he would be most pleased with you and your family, as he would be for all of your brothers and sisters. I really think he would be happy with what your mom and I were doing this evening – we were doing our missionary work at the Provo LDS Employment Resource Services Center.

Thanks Scott for putting this together. I remember the day you recorded all of this. Grandpa certainly was special to all of us. He always wanted us all to do what was right and he was an example of doing it himself. I think that made a difference in all of us. Thanks, Brad, for helping us remember and Scott for putting this together for all of us to see.

My favorite memory is when Grandpa asked Jed to feel his muscle and grandpa whacked him on the head… Jed started crying – I thought it was funny at that age, come to think of it, I would still laugh at him – I remember when I fell for that one.
