Sweethearts

A friend of mine told me recently that he and his wife were expecting their first child, a girl. He mentioned he is nervous about being a father. I told him that he should prepare to have his heart melt. One thing I learned quickly with Audrey was that she could melt my heart easily. Kate quickly added more to the melt factor once she was born. I am so glad to have Audrey and Kate as my daughters. They can be so sweet to each other, to me, or Jeana.

Audrey sat at the piano with me tonight singing. We sang “A Whole New World” from the movie “Aladdin” and when we finished I looked at Kate who was dancing and playing nearby. Kate and gone up to her room and come back with small little figurines of Aladdin and Jasmine so that she could play along with us.

Karen, our sister-in-law, took these pictures of Audrey and Kate while they were playing in a park in Park City while we were at the reunion.

  1. I agree. The best part of my day is coming home and Riley being excited to see me. I’m always a little disappointed when she’s still taking a nap or they’re out running errands.

  2. Yea, they are adorable.

  3. What great things to say! And what adorable pictures of the girls.

  4. They are definitely melting-enabled girls!

  5. What beautiful children! They certainly melt my heart. Hugs and Kisses to the both of them and to their wonderful parents!

  6. Your girls are too cute! I love hearing Audrey sing. Is she ready for another solo in the Primary Program?

  7. Audrey and I have been singing at the piano together lately. Her ability to sing on pitch is getting a bit better. Her range is definitely limited to alto, or a lower subset thereof. So, whatever the solo, I’m happy to transpose it down about 5 keys. :)

  8. It was SO fun to get together with you while you were in Utah. Thanks for the extra effort to drive up and see us. (I feel partly guilty for your car problems, like maybe that extra trip up to SLC pushed the jeep over hte edge!!) Your s are so fun and cute.

Isn’t it amazing how much a part of our soul our children are? I’ve been reflecting on that a lot after hearing about Molly’s recent loss. You guys are really blessed to have beautiful, healthy children (even if they aren’t as beautiful as mine!)
    love you guys
