Marathon Kids

Audrey completed her 26 miles this week and then yesterday we went to the Final Mile Medal Celebration and she finished her last .2 miles. What an awesome program Marathon Kids is to help kids set goals and work on them over a long period of time.  I was so proud of her.  Kate should get something too, since she biked most of the 26 miles alongside Audrey.

Aunt Danielleee visits

So, Danielle came to visit us this week and she won everyone over. She got to be the nice aunt that spoils everyone. She spoiled me by constantly refilling my water, reading to Kate and getting her down for naps, helping Kate make beds every morning, buying us a new shower head, picking out a new hair style for me, and making us dinner.

She spoiled Audrey and Kate by buying them Webkinz stuffed animals and teaching Audrey how to get online and play it, and playing Belle and Ariel with Kate daily.

She spoiled Simon by stopping his cries and holding him when the rest of us were busy with the other parts of life.

Danielle and Simon

While Danielle was here, Scott kept making comments about people (us – Danielle, Audrey, and I) being addicted to Webkinz. One time we heard him talking to Audrey in a different room, saying, “I’m going to teach you a new word. It’s called addiction.” He then went on to explain what it meant and basically suggest that she was spending so much time on the computer playing Webkinz that she was addicted. Too much time on the computer? Look who’s talking. Anyway after Danielle left yesterday, I showed him one of the games on Webkinz that I thought he would like. I finished the game and asked him if I should leave it up so he could try it and he said, “Yes.” So, he started playing the game and after a while Audrey, who was sitting on his lap, started asking him to be done, but he was too focused on Smoothy Moves to even hear her. I’m pretty sure a good half hour went by of her asking and him not hearing. He was really good though. He got to level seven his first time. After we got the kids to bed we played some more. We ended up staying up past midnight and earning Audrey over 2,000 kinz cash. Who’s addicted now?

Sunday naps

Last Sunday I had a hard time waking Scott up for one of his meetings because he and Kate just looked so cozy together.  I finally gave in and woke him up 20 minutes before his meeting started.

Kate and Scott

Audrey had wandered in to my room earlier and decided to wake me up since Scott and Kate were already asleep and not entertaining her. I didn’t have any luck falling back asleep, but she did.

Audrey and Simon

Are you crazy?! I wouldn’t let my five-year old sleep with a less than two week old baby. This photo was posed for. Here’s how I really found her.

Happy Valentines Day

When Valentines day rolled around, I hadn’t gotten out much yet so I hadn’t bought any goodies for Scott or Audrey and Kate.  So, I decided to make a treasure hunt instead.  It turned out to be really cute. Sometime during the night after one of Simon’s many feedings I sneaked into the girls room and taped hearts up all over the walls.  I did the same thing in my room.

Then, I made a path of hearts coming from each room and meeting up in front of the stairs with the first clue.

When they woke up in the morning they followed the path to the first clue.  The clues led them to their bathroom, the computer desk, the kitchen table, the ping pong table, and finally up into the extra bedroom where they had heart shaped cookies waiting for them.

The Prize!

After the hunt, we headed downstairs to a heart shaped pancake breakfast made by Scott and a fruit bouquet of yummy, yummy berries. He also gave me some yummy chocolate with personalized wrapping of pictures of my family. It was really cute and I’d put a picture in if I had one, but I don’t, and it’s all been eaten by now. It ended up being a really fun day.

Hello, My Name is Simon

He doesn’t quite like to do “drawrings” yet (pardon the Saturday Night Live reference for those not familiar), but we love him.

Simon, ready to go home

Simon was born this week and we are finally home from the hospital. Audrey and Kate are helpful big sisters and they demonstrate their love in so many ways. Simon was a little guy when he was born, only 7 pounds. When we dressed him to come home his clothes seemed gigantic. I didn’t realize how much Kate has grown up, but when I look at Simon and Kate together Kate seems massive.

Audrey was holding Simon at the hospital and Jeana saw that Audrey was crying. Audrey looked up at Jeana and said, “I love him so much it’s making me cry.”
