To say that Audrey gets a little obsessed with books would be an understatement. When it comes to Harry Potter, however, I am right there along side her. So, even though we didn’t have a friend birthday party, I still couldn’t help myself from going a little over board with some Potter-mania.
I picked the girls up from school and asked them to get the mail on the way home. Here’s what they found (one for each of them).
And here’s what happened when they found the letters.
Based on her reaction, I was a little bit worried that there was going to be some major disappointment once we got home and she realized that it wasn’t actually a letter from THE Hogwarts and that she wasn’t actually a wizard.
I don’t think she was too disappointed though.
They first arrived at Platform 9 3/4 and then got to visit Madam Maxim’s to get some robes, Olivander’s to make some wands, and Honey Dukes to get some sweets. I realize that the proximity of all of these places to one another is not at all consistent with the book, but it was more about the fun than the authenticity of it all.
Then, for dinner we ate at the Three Broomsticks and had a little potions practice while we were at it.
And of course we had to have a golden snitch in there!
Happy Birthday Audrey! We love you!
