The bluebonnets are gorgeous this year. I just couldn’t resist getting out with my new camera and taking some pics of the kids. I could have spent much more time than we did. I’ll be heading back out soon!

We had a very fun Easter. Our neighbors got together for an Easter egg hunt on Friday. Simon’s age group went first.
He got right into it and quickly discovered that he likes jelly beans.
There were so many eggs everywhere. Audrey found the golden egg and got a special prize.
They had an egg toss with Cascarones! The confetti was a huge hit.
Later on, we had some fun coloring eggs with friends.
…a little bit late, but oh well. Here’s some pictures of the kids on Easter. It was pretty monumental since it was also Simon’s blessing day. Check out his cute vest that I knitted.

The night before Easter, Audrey got all excited and said, “The rabbit fairy is coming tomorrow!” Scott and I laughed our heads off. Apparently, we haven’t put much emphasis on the Easter Bunny. We could hardly even talk, we were laughing so hard – which made Audrey get embarrassed, so we forced ourselves to stop. But every once in a while one of us would think of it and just start laughing again. I told Scott that I needed to write it down and since he was sitting at the desk, he wrote it down for me. Later on Audrey sat at the desk to play on the computer and she saw what Scott had written, so she grabbed a pen and scribbled it out. I guess we can’t laugh at her any more… at least not in front of her face.
We had such a fun Easter. On Saturday we went to an Easter egg hunt at our Church. Audrey just took off with her friend, Ocean, running around and getting tons of eggs, while Kate stayed closer to me. She still got plenty of eggs though.
The girls got some beautiful spring dresses to wear on Sunday.
Earlier in the week, Audrey had an egg hunt at preschool too, so I vowed not to get very much candy for them since they would get it from a billion other sources anyway. So, instead, I put sidewalk chalk and bubbles in their baskets. We still somehow ended up with more candy than any of us needed, but oh well.
Jeana wanted to get the girls new dresses for Easter this year, but convinced herself that we would pass on doing so this year in order to stay on our budget. Jeana heard a knock on the door and when she opened it she was given a package from my sister, Michelle, which had two matching Easter dresses in it.
Thanks Michelle! The girls look adorable, of course.
